Happy woMen's Day!

I have never been a big fan of celebrating a day for Women. Just because I represent a certain Gender doesn't mean I have to celebrate it in all glory in one particular day. While lot of messages poured in there was one thought that always bothered me. I have seen women take a dig on Men while wishing each other a happy Women's day and yes I have seen Men as well questioning and wondering why Women's day and not Men's day. I happened to read a little sarcastic comment- Women's day was actually planned for 6th March and they took too long to get ready and hence it is celebrated on 8th March and for Men, well, the day was planned but as usual they forgot the date. I don't agree with this stereotyping that Women take forever to get ready or Men don't remember important days. I take less than 5 minutes to get ready and I don't remember many important dates in my life. So what's with this post on woMen's day?

In this world of Feminacist, who think Feminism is all about bringing Men down in every given opportunity and project themselves as superior, please give it a thought that your own existence required the equal efforts from both the gender. (some may argue that Women had to go through labor and carry a child for 9 months..given a opportunity, Men wouldn't say No to it!). So this Women's day, I take a moment to salute and thank all those Women who continue to inspire me every single day. My Mother- who has seen the ups and downs in life and raised her three kids full of love, warmth, happiness and care..My Sister in law- who took up the challenges in life head on and never gave up and continues to laugh and smile, cheers up everyone around..My sister- who does not bow down even in the toughest of times..My colleague and a good friend- who fought cancer during her pregnancy and delivered a bold, beautiful Girl and is living her life..To all those known and unknown women- who cheered me all along. You are all Bold, Beautiful, Brilliant beyond words.

I also take a moment in thanking all the Men who could spot even the slightest of Mood changes in me and make me smile, gave me hope and wings to fly when I start doubting myself..I wouldn't have been what I am today without the Men and Women in my life..So here is wishing everyone a Happy woMen's day!

 Yet another Netflix series that caught my attention recently- Adolescence. It is based on the horrendous stabbing incidents in UK, that left a lasting impression on Stephen Graham who co-created the show with Jack Thorne. Stephen himself is part of the show playing the role of the father to the lead/ accused in this case- Jamie Miller. While there has been a lot of uproar that the show simply refused to truly represent the race of the individual behind the stabbing, I would rather want us to focus on what the show is all about.  This is a mini series of 4 episodes which are an hour long each. Each episode is beyond brilliant and every single character amazingly well put together. It talks about a lot of things that today's generation goes through in their adolescence. I had to read about what the Andrew Tate, 80-20 rules are. Adulting, Motherhood and the many roles

 I was a studious kid, brought up with a lot of moral values akin to a typical middle class family & I carry forward the values with pride. Adulting in the books of a millennial is very different from what we see now. The first time I stepped out of my comfort zone of being with my family was when I was 19 years old for my Masters degree. Not very far away or in a strange land- I ended up in Kerala where I could converse fluently in the local dialect. Can't really call this an uprooting but this was my first experience away from my family. Those two years did give me a lot of life experiences which I otherwise would never have had. I was also blessed with a wonderful circle of friends who literally took care of me. I was one of the very few lucky ones who was campus recruited right after my course and I landed in Bangalore. To the Future Husband!

Ok! I never thought I would write one on this ever. I have least interest in becoming like the now infamous Indian Author who gave an official entry into his bedroom (and what not) in his book '2 states'. I reserve further comments on that for now. Alas, after 5 years of meeting some 'prospective' grooms and having tried to find a guy on my own, I thought it was best to write down my experience.
